Master of Wine Event May 2014

Château de Minière attended the prestigious Master of Wine event in Florence 15 to 18 May and had the opportunity to learn so much and network with experts from all wine fields as well as tasted over 200 wines.

We are putting all this new inspiration into practice by developing our complete wine experience further and we are striving for excellence for everything we do!

All sessions took place in the prestigious Auditorium Palazzo dei Congressi complex. The theme was “Identity, Innovation and Imagination”. Sessions included wine communication, the geography of wine and climate changing, wine research as well as learning more about Italian wine and appellations.
One of the dinners was held in the late baroque Palazzo Corsini with a fine example of Florentine painting periods. We had a delicious four course meal and tasted a wide range of fantastic Italian wines, sparkling, dry and sweet.
We also spent an evening in the Tuscan countryside at the winery Castello di Verrazzano. We had a very special evening and probably one of the best foods we ever had! Luigi Giovanni Cappellini and his wife welcomed us in their home and gave us an experience we will never forget! We learned that Giovanni da Verrazzano was born in this home in 1485. He was a keen navigator who discovered the bay of New York and most of the East Coast of America. The famous bridge Verrazano–Narrows Bridge in New York was named after him in 1964. We were equally impressed by the high quality of Chianti Classico produced. We spent the final dinner at the breathtaking Marchesi Antinori Winery, an architectural heaven. We thought to share some photos with you as we can’t put it into word on how magnificent it is!
