Château de Minière

Awaiting you are the Château and its historic park, two centuries old. The estate, within a walled vineyard, has been managed by women since the 18th century.

Here in the shop, you can find our wines, locally-made products and gift ideas.

Would you love to stay at the château? Well, you can! You can rent the château or one of the cottages.

History

The origins of the Château de Minière date back to the 15th century.

It began as a fortified farm. Later on, it became a manor house, before becoming a Château in the 16th century. The Château was extended with its final wing when Colonel du Soulier joined the Espinay family. This family also owned the Château d’Ussé, not far away on the other side of the Loire.

The French writer Charles Perrault was inspired by the Château, and had it in mind when writing “Sleeping Beauty”.

Our philosophy

Since 2010, all the vines grown at the Château de Minière have been covered by the Organic Agriculture Ecocert. The estate is also certified HVE (High Environmental Value), a label covering environmental performance indicators. Renovations have been carried out from a sustainable, ecological perspective.
